Durox Foundation

Durox Foundation

Used below DPC in solid walls, these blocks replace traditional inner and outer leaves, wall ties and concrete cavity fill. Compared to cavity construction, they can halve construction time and, as the wall stabilises soon after laying, stop cavities collapsing. Durox Foundation blocks can support cavity walls, solid walls or frame construction above ground, offering good ground floor perimeter insulation. Blocks of 3.6N/mm² strength are suitable for use in sulfate conditions up to DS-2. Higher strength blocks can be used up to DS-3 sulfate conditions. Durox Foundation 7N/mm² blocks are easily identified by an application of black paint to one end of the block.

Foundation blocks for wide cavities

In response to wider cavity walls above ground to accommodate increasing amounts of thermal insulation, the Durox range has increased to include 350mm x 310mm x 215mm foundation blocks at 3.6 N/mm² strength. The product can be laid to construct either a 350mm or 310mm wall. Each block weighs approximately 11.4kg at a 3% moisture content.
